The 2027 Itaú Santiago Marathon brought together nearly 300 runners for its first Social Run

The first official Social Run brought the running community together at Plaza Bulnes, across from the Palacio de La Moneda, on a day that marked the start of preparations for the next edition of the event. The event featured a 3-kilometer run, fun dancing, and recovery exercises.

With approximately 300 participants, the 2027 Itaú Santiago Marathon kicked off its journey toward the next edition with its first Social Run. The event took place at Plaza Bulnes, across from the Palacio de La Moneda, and brought together runners and running enthusiasts to celebrate the sport and community life.

The event was led by Érika Olivera, a former Olympic athlete and assistant manager of Sports and User Experience at Prokart, who welcomed the attendees and invited them to be part of the journey toward 2027. After a warm-up session featuring an entertaining dance, the participants walked approximately 3 kilometers through the area.

“We’re very pleased with the turnout and the atmosphere at this first Social Run. It was a real celebration and the start of our journey toward the 2027 Itaú Santiago Marathon, which will bring together runners from Chile and around the world,” said Érika Olivera.

Eleonora Espinoza, director of DIDECO for the Municipality of Santiago, also highlighted the collaboration: “From Paseo Bulnes, we’re kicking off the Itaú Santiago Marathon, which will take place on May 16, 2027. Together with Prokart, we’ll be organizing eight Social Runs, and we invite all registered participants to take part in this preparatory phase,” she said.
