For the third consecutive year, the MDS has formed a strategic partnership with Colbún, an energy generation company.

This gives the race a strong commitment to sustainability: it will offset its emissions with carbon credits from Colbún’s renewable energy plants, and will focus on waste management, transportation, and energy.

With this partnership, MDS and Colbún are making their mark on the track—not on the planet!

At the Santiago Marathon, we believe that running can also make a positive impact. That is why, starting in 2024, we began a partnership with Corporación Robles de Cantillana, an organization dedicated to ecosystem conservation and the propagation of native forests.

We launched a pilot program for voluntary carbon offsetting through reforestation, funded by voluntary contributions from our brokers under Law 21,440. These funds enabled us to carry out a planting project using the Miyawaki method at the San Juan de Piche Sanctuary in Alhué.

The initiative was presented at the Marathon Expo, generating a great deal of interest among attendees. In 2026, we will continue to strengthen this environmental commitment so we can keep running for a greener Chile without limits.
